Protecting what matters most with the right coverage

I'm an independent life and health insurance producer serving clients across Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. As an independent producer, I'm not tied to a single carrier — I'm contracted with multiple insurance companies to find the plan that truly fits your needs and budget.

Licensed & Independent Multiple Carrier Contracts Serving MS · TN · AL · GA Client-First Approach Marketing Follows CMS Guidelines

An independent producer working for you, not the insurance company

My name is James Johnson, and I'm a licensed life and health insurance producer serving clients across Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. Unlike a captive agent who represents only one company, I operate as an independent producer — contracted with multiple insurance carriers across life and health lines.

That independence is your advantage. I have the flexibility to shop across carriers, compare plans side by side, and recommend the coverage that genuinely fits your situation — not just what's available on one company's shelf.

Whether you're a family looking for affordable term life coverage, an individual navigating health insurance options, or a Medicare beneficiary trying to understand your choices during Open Enrollment, I'm here to guide you through every step with clear, honest advice.

Johnson & Johnson Agency LLC is not affiliated with or endorsed by any specific insurance carrier, nor is it affiliated with Johnson & Johnson the consumer products company. As an independent agency, we represent the interests of our clients above all else.
About working with a producer: Working with an independent producer typically costs you nothing extra. Producers are compensated by insurance carriers when a policy is issued — meaning you receive professional guidance at no direct charge to you.

Navigating Medicare so you don't have to

Medicare involves multiple parts, plan types, and enrollment windows. Understanding the critical difference between Original Medicare and private Medicare plans is the foundation for making the right coverage decision.

Original Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage — A Critical Distinction

Original Medicare (Parts A & B) — Federal Program

Original Medicare is administered directly by the federal government through CMS. It has two parts:

  • Part A (Hospital Insurance) — covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care following a qualifying hospital stay, hospice care, and some home health services.
  • Part B (Medical Insurance) — covers outpatient care, doctor visits, preventive services, lab tests, and durable medical equipment. Part B has a standard monthly premium, annual deductible, and 20% coinsurance on most covered services.

Original Medicare does not include routine dental, vision, hearing, most prescription drugs, or an out-of-pocket maximum.

Medicare Advantage (Part C) & Supplement — Private Plans

Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement are private insurance products, not government programs:

  • Medicare Advantage (Part C) — a private plan approved by Medicare that delivers your Part A and Part B benefits through the insurer. Benefits, premiums, networks, and cost-sharing are determined by the plan and can change annually.
  • Medicare Supplement (Medigap) — secondary insurance that works alongside Original Medicare, helping cover deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. Does not replace Medicare.
These are private insurance products — not administered by the federal government. Plan availability, benefits, and premiums vary by carrier, county, and year.
Important: Medicare Advantage plans are not the same as Original Medicare. When you enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, your benefits are delivered by a private insurance company under contract with Medicare — not directly by the federal government. Benefits, premiums, and networks can change each year.
Medicare · Part C
Medicare Advantage

A private plan approved by Medicare that delivers Part A and Part B benefits. I'll help you compare options available in your specific county — including networks, cost-sharing, and plan features. Plans vary significantly by location and carrier.

Medicare · Medigap
Medicare Supplement

Secondary insurance that supplements Original Medicare by helping cover deductibles and coinsurance. Plans are standardized by letter; I'll explain each letter and compare pricing across carriers in your area.

Part D
Prescription Drug Coverage

Stand-alone Part D drug plans are available through private insurers for those on Original Medicare. Each plan has its own formulary, premiums, and covered pharmacies. I can help you review options based on your medications.

Enrollment Period Support

Missing an enrollment window can result in permanent late penalties. I help clients understand their Initial Enrollment Period, Annual Election Period, and Special Enrollment Period options — and act at the right time.

CMS Compliance Notice I am a licensed insurance producer. I am not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. Government or the federal Medicare program. Medicare has neither reviewed nor endorsed this information. This is a solicitation for insurance. Calling the number on this page will connect you to a licensed insurance producer. Plans are insured or covered by a Medicare Advantage organization with a Medicare contract and/or a Medicare-approved Part D sponsor. Enrollment in a plan depends on the plan's contract renewal with Medicare. Not all plans available in all areas. Plan benefits, premiums, and networks vary by location and are subject to change annually. Medicare beneficiaries may also enroll in Medicare Advantage and Part D plans through the CMS Medicare Plan Finder at medicare.gov.
